Thumbs down

I have just bought an apexi power FC for my RB5 (MY99) but it doesn't work.
I have some experience with Apexi ECU's on Skylines and they have always been ok, apart from UK R34's where you need to perform a slight mod to the loom to get the chip key immobiliser to work. I am wondering if this is the case on my impreza? Once I have put it in the car and connected it to the laptop every thing seems ok but the car won't start due to the injectors not opening??
I have spoken to Apexi and they are sure I have the correct ECU but require more info (wiring loom diagram etc,,,) before I crack out my japanese phrase book I was hoping somebody on here may have some experience of Apexi ECU's on UK imprezas. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i have the apexi avc-r and s-afc at the moment, and had no trouble. im assuming the ecu can monitor injector duty too?
if so, things to check are that you havent cut the injector signal wire rather than splice into it etc
i dont think there is any code to get past etc like the skyline.

I haven't cut or spliced any wires just unplugged my existing ECU and stuck the Apexi in its place.

The Apexi Power FC is a complete new ecu Ian, not an add on jobbie.

Immobiliser is off the ECU on MY99/00. Transposed cam and crank position sensors on JDM models compared with UK - thought to be deliberate so STi ECU will not start UK and vice versa - can you double check the required ECU... also there is an ignition timing offset at least in the OEM ECUs - not looked whether the actual signal is offset between the cars or not. Also different cams on the JDM STi.

Hi Cord,
Try riniging RC Developments as i feel they know more about Apexi then Apexi themselves. They have fitted Power FC units to more scoobs then i care to think about.
Give them a go.

Thanks John I will have a look at the cam/crank sensors, but I would expect a lot more errors than just the injectors not opening if that was the case. Fingers crossed it works.

Cheers Gez I will give them a bell.
