How can I tell if my LSD is sworking properly?

I have a sneaking suspicion that the LSD on my 96 STi R/A is playing up. I was parked on some wet grass today, and when i pulled away it drove like a rear-driver, and there was no mud / grass being thrown up from the front whatsoever (rears were throwing up loads). I did all this in the name of technical enlightenment, not being a hooligan at all
