so do David Hendry Cars they wont sell version 4 or 5 with out one, just had mine done for under 200 quid.

 

A lot of people sell uprated oil pumps which claim it will fix the big end problem. The uprating is quite minimal as far as I am aware, and I have seen an engine fail with an uprated GGR pump fitted.
Some people sell baffled sumps which they claim will fix the problem also.
Some people will claim anything will fix the problem, just to make you buy their product over another. It doesnt mean it will fix it. Chances are an original pump will give years of service ( and thousands do ) anyway, so it would be a very long time before you would know whether it did or dint fix a particular problem, which a lot of people also say doesnt exist.
