Question

Hi, i currently use optimax in my 97 5 door tbo uk,
whats the opinion on using octane booster,
will it improve performance much/any???,
will it cause any engine damage cos its a uk spec???
i assume the ecu will have to be re-set, true????
what sort of ron will optimax an booster give???

Thanks in advance people

With a UK & standard ECU it's unlikely to make any difference! Optimax & additives can work well or v.badly depending on the additive - but only when the ECU can make use of the added RON. Which the standard UK won't.
Also, remember that the effect of the additive gets less with the higher RON you're adding to - 1 bottle/measure added to 95 may raise the RON to 98; same measure added to 98.6 (allegedly ) will likely only raise by 1.5RON. Diminishing returns & all that.

I use Optimax & NF Race Formula in my MY01 WRX and I feel it does make a difference. The car pulls stronger especially in third gear. I read a lot of posts on here and came to the conclusion I would have to try it for myself, I am glad I did.

My94 Uk running optimax & proboost octane booster. When i lay off the proboost for a while (when i run out) there is a definate difference in performance (low down torque). Have tried optimax & NF formula car felt worse than ever. Proboost if spilt evapourates very quickly NF is more of an oily liquid. I swear by optimax & proboost. Last rolling road @ powerstation 272 Bhp @ 13 Psi Boost.
