Question

....well, maybe not quick answers

I have always been a fan of the older Impreza - especially as my first scoob was a 1994 WRX.

I am looking to get an STI 1 or 2 in silver
Up to the STI 4 - which would you recommend and why?

Next..........

I want this to be a project car for me. I know I have a reputation for being a muppet, but this is a serious question.

I would like to look into twin turbocharging the Impreza I get. Which engine would be better to use - obviously turbo would not really matter as I would be replacing it with a hybrid version.

Anyone who has experience or advice, feel free to post up or email me as pre profile and let me know your thoughts. Also on approximate cost so I can ascertain whether I really want to go to the expense of following some mad dream I had, LOL.

Until then, await the return of Little Miss WRX - 2!!!!

Michelle,

It's not just a muppet you're known as....

Have you heard of search?

Think you'll find all the answers there.

Don't search for muppet though

Alright Michelle, long time no see !

As for the early STI's, there's a thread running regarding the STI 1's, I think in general - if your interested, let me know, and I'll dig out the URL. As all the STI 1 owners will be happy to remind you, Version 1 was the only one to be built actually on the STI line....

Alot of the early STI's seem to be out-performing the standard power figures given for them - my own car included. Difficult to know why, especially as engine spec seems to vary depending on what day of the week STI built it !

Regarding your twin turbo question, I have a engine supplier in Australia who does a 2.5 engine kit using the EJ25 block. One of his local customers also twin turbo's the car, to rather nice effect. Not sure you want to stretch to those lengths though, although knowing you....
