Question

Hi all,
The dreaded questions, is it possible to tell when when the MAF and Lamda sensor have called it the day????
What are the side effects?
Will there be a significance loss in power?
Does CEL appear in any case?
WHAT are the £COSTS£ ????
If they have failed and the car is used over a prolonged period what are the consequences??

Any input appreciated

Regards

CEL may or may not appear depending on how bad. You can say your lambda sensor is working if it passes an MOT/check on gas analyser. You can tell the MAF sensor is working from seeing the correct voltages on a Select Monitor. A faulty lambda sensor will be more subtle - rich in closed loop conditions, drinking fuel, sometimes flutuating idle. A failed MAF will idle like a dog.
