need advice urgently as my gearbox is shagged
Beechdale are ask $2400 parts and labour for replacing 3rd and 4th gear and a drive shaft as they say 9 times out of 10 this also needs replacing.
is this a fair price or not seems a bit steep to me ???

This is v annoying i do not ragg the **** off my car yes i drive fast and i do ride the clutch alot at junctions but the gears
to go would be first and or second gear if i was a loon surely

the first i noticed any problems was yesterday and when a strange rattling sound started when in third gear which got louder and louder till this morning when i limped straight to the garage using all the gears bar third and thats where i have left it as i darent drive it anywhere else for fear of more damage

I have never dropped into the wrong gear at speed or tried pulling anything heavy so why???.
it is out of warranty and has just had a 57000 mile service
