Hi all

The clutch on my sti5 Type-r recently slipped a bit in 5th under load after I performed a rapid get away the day before(Typical, the one and only time I try to show off!!!). It slipped when hot for a couple of days but now seems to be back to normal??

I'd like to try and answer a couple of questions.....

1. The car has done 30000 miles on this clutch so I presume even if the clutch plates have 're-beded in'(If thats poss??)i'm gonna need a new clutch soon??

2. The car is currently running about 300bhp and 285ftlb torque with a 'Link' to be added soon(ie up to approx. 315/295), so what make clutch(AP,Helix, sti etc??) should I be looking for and what are the approx. mail order prices?

3. Has anyone lightened the flywheel on their sti?...if so, was it worth doing?....and by who?

Sorry for all the questions

Thanks for any replies

Tony

I haven't got an sti (unfortunately) but.....
If you want a clutch speak to Mark at Lateral performance.
I got one from him, I think it's rated at 450ftlbs (about 100 more than an AP) Also got a lightened billet flywheel from him too.
They're both being fitted at the mo (interested to see what the flywheel's like), should have car this week and I can let you know (need to hear my Hiper again)
Oh and the clutch with release bearing was cheaper than the AP one
