Cool

Went along to Power Engineering this week to have a TEK2 ECU fitted to compliment the full decat exhaust I have been running for the last few days. The day started of really bad when I was told my air flow meter was fecked and the car was only running 12-13psi and only made around 210-215BHP. They only had one replacement in stock that had gone on another Scooby earlier. Fortunately it was taken back off again to be put on mine, as they had more coming in tomorrow and the guy was coming back there!

Anyway it resolved the problem and the TEK2 went on and the car is now running perfect. It made 257BHP and 254LBS/FT Torque which is just a huge improvement over what I had before! The TEK2 is mapped for an Induction kit so I will be putting a K&N put on in the next week or two which should further increase the BHP slightly and some samco hoses. Also now have a boost gauge fitted as well to monitor things.

Results…

It feels so much more driveable on the road now and it will pull hard in 3rd gear from so low down the rev range, that I keep thinking I am in 2nd gear from before. Also found it very easy to light up the tyres in 2nd or 3rd gear today trying to get the power down too early coming out of wet roundabouts (great fun though).

Now have a VF23 turbo upgrade on the back of my mind to do next, but will try concentrate on upgrading the front brakes and getting the bumpsteer mod and anti-lift kit done to improve the handling. Big thanks to Mervyn and the guys at PowerEngineering who worked on the car.

Cheers,
Ant

Thought it would have been a little more than that but the torque figure looks good. Might have to get one

The car is now running 16psi compared to before. I think some people have further mapping so it will run 17-18psi or have a dawes device to increase it.

Will probably also go to TEK3 next after a few more mods.

Very good discount on these in the Scoobynet shop now from John Banks. Too far for me to travel to scotland as I wanted the power test done at the same time, yet I think it could be posted to you in exchange for yours. Glad they did it for me anyway as the other problem was spotted before getting it fitted.
