Question

Has anyone got one of these made by (hayward+scott)

If so will it be as loud as my scoobysport and still have that nice flat 4 noise.

Hi

Thought I'd post a quick reply, the Afterburner is a Scoobyworld product developed in conjunction with Hayward & Scott.

I'd be happy to put you in touch with some of our customers who have purchased the Afterburner since its recent launch. Just drop me mail.

Also on wednesday (this week) we'll be getting some professional sound equipment to record the sound of the exhaust on full boost on our MY00 so watch our web site...

hope this helps

Wendy

Got my Afterburner system (back box and centre section) fitted today on my MY94 WRX wagon. Unbelievable difference over the standard exhaust!

Starting up the car you get this wonderful explosion of noise, which then quickly settles into the distinctive flat four exhaust note, albeit one that is significantly throatier and more purposeful than the OEM exhaust. Under acceleration, it responds beautifully with just the right amount of noise - not too loud, not too quiet.

I have to admit when I unwrapped it and saw it in isolation I did think that it was rather too large. However, on the car it looks absolutely fantastic.

I don't have any direct experience of other aftermarket exhausts, so I can't offer an informed comparison between those and the Afterburner. However, I can tell you that this is one satisfied customer who has had a massive grin on his face all day!

Top customer service from Wendy @ Scoobyworld as well.

(I'm very happy with it BTW)

No problem R.B

I'm going to take a few photographs of the Afterburner on the car. More than happy to e-mail these to you if you want.

Was going to help test these, but my insurance co weren't at all happy, and wanted nearly as much as the exhaust in additional premium

I'll hopefully be getting the zorst sorted out later next year...
Wendy, I'll be in touch then. (if not before for other scoob stuff)

We are recording the sound of the Afterburner today, so we should hopefully have some samples available on the website this evening for anyone interested in the afterburner system.

Sorry guys, we failed in our attempt to record the sound!

We will be trying again next week so watch this space!

If anyone is after one of our systems there is one up for grabs at the Staffordshire Charity Treasure Hunt (Midlands Event Forum) so come along and raise some money for a worthy charity.

We will also have the afterburner on the back of the Scoobyworld car for anyone to listen to on the day.

Took the car out for about 4 hours this morning, mainly around country lanes. Wonderful stuff! Under "reasonable" acceleration the exhaust sounds superb, push it a bit harder then it really starts to sing

Got looks everywhere I went, not least when I went through a town centre one way system where all the shops are hard up to the road - made for some lovely acoustics

Haven't done a motorway run yet, but I've got one coming up next week, so I'll see how it performs at reasonably constant speeds then.

Matt

ok, first sound file up on our site now - recording of the Afterburner on engine startup and a few blips of the throttle (95KB), others to follow over the w/e.
