Anyone interested?

Reports suggest it makes brake rotors last 100% longer, more resistant to cracking etc etc.

Useful for conrods, brake discs, cranks, gears and just about any wearing/stressed metal part.

If only... you could inject it through the spark plug holes and do a virtual rebuild

Realistically how much stronger would it make a conrod?

Can you do it to pistons?

I'll find out more. I've only seen it advertised for ferrous parts so far. But they are claiming big increases in fatigue strength, toughness and wear charactristics.

The Yanks are starting to get into this in quite a big way, if I had the money I'd be investing in my own cryo baths right about now.

It seems to be so cheap to have done that even a small improvement would be worth it (something like £50 for pistons/rods?)

The cryo treatment of ferous materials works really well, depending on the type of part being treated. Parts with lots of casting stressor or complicated machining will be helped quite a bit. I don't have real numbers, but on the disc it woiuld help to reduce warpage due to the internal stress placced on the rotor during casting.

Whether or not it's worth the money unless your a competative racer is hard to say. Personally I would use it for the engine internals and block, but it probably isn't worth it anywhere else.
