Question

Just checked the condition of the coil packs on my 96 turbo, due to a missfire and noticed that the rubber caps on the ends on the near side of the engine were both split. The plastic underneath looked ok, so I taped up the rubbers with insulating tape and hey presto the missfire dissapeared, though it still feels a tad down on power at high revs. I am sure I read in an old post that the ruber caps are available seperately, though are only shown the Legacy parts microfiche. Obviiously just replacing the rubber caps is a much cheaper solution than replacing the complete coil pack. Can anyone confirm their availability as I cant find the old post that mentions this.

They are available, not sure of the part number. All impreza/legacy turbo models used the 4 coil setup til 96. The rubber bit is the same for all.

Does anybody know the individual part number of the ruber insulator caps; as Robinsons of Rochdale are only showing he complete coil pack on their system.

They are available seperately as stated above - to fix your exact problem they released them as an aftermarket part.

Dont know the part number though, try phoning Subaru Technical Dept on 0121 522 2000 and asking them....just dont tell them if you have an import!
