Question

have just fitted my new guages and pod and was wondering what boost my MY98 STI V4 should be running at. Currently it peaks and about 19/20 and settles at 14.

Sounds quite spiky. I take it you have freed up the breathing. There is a risk of detonation from uncontrolled boost spikes. Certainly those spikes are what I would call uncontrolled. Could be oil contamination in the boost control pipework if oil level was overfilled. Otherwise adjusting restrictor sizes may help.

yes, I have a scoobysport downpipe, and powerflowexhaust and ramair filter. The spike only occurs when i floor it when not on boost and then it comes in with a wack and hits 19 and drops to about 12 and rises to 14. I will try cleaning the control valve and see if this improves matters.

What boost should I be running?
