Plea to DeltaDash Users
#2
Any DeltaDash users out there prepared to create a log file of their car cruising/light throttle between 50 and 70 in both 4th and 5th gears and send it over to me?
I'm seeing what I belive to be unusual ignition timing activity when I go from cruise (virtaully no throttle) to light throttle the timing dips dramatically from mid 30 - low 40 degrees to 5 or even 2 degrees and then picks back up again.
My car is a MY99 using Ae800 ecu.
Thanks Julian.

Torstein,
Having more logs to compare can't hurt. So if you don't mind that would be great. Is your car running well or do you have a specific problem you are working on?
Matt,
Tahnks. Got the logs. Seems to be quite similar to mine in terms of ignition dropping way low when coming back rapidly on the accelerator after O2 sensor at zero. I assume you were happy with how the car was running at the time? So one a statistically vlaid sample of two (!) I guess I can eliminate this suspect from my enquiries.
I read an interseting comment from someone, may even have been Stephan Done, "DeltaDash is perfectly safe to use for the enthusiast" or words to that effect. Maybe safe for the car, but can lead to severe paranoia for the owner!

Julian,
Yes both cars were running fine. Both were less than 18 months old and one was completely standard. The standard car was running on NUL and mine with the Dawes and PPP BB was running Optimax.
You could ask John Banks/Stephen Done if what you are seeing is normal but I suspect that it is.

Julian, logs are on their way.
Sadly, I overlooked your 'between 50 and 70' part, so I might have been a bit slow, especially in 4th gear (the speeds are in km/h, not mph).
I'm happy with how my car (no mods yet) is running, but I've only had the car for about three months, and I'm no expert, but I can't see anything obviously wrong from the logs.
