How long (in mileage) does the standard unit last, and how much power will it take before it'll start to go ?
I'm running with 272bhp at the mo, due to fit a VF28 turbo soon.

Cheers

my MY96 clutch has just started to slip at 70k miles. Has been running a totally standard engine from new. I've been told that this is typical for the car.

I'll half the life here since I've modified the car, so I've probably got about 7k mls left.....

"now i have got a car that produces 350-360bhp, only to realise that there is no chance in hell the gearbox and clutch will last, so you blow another 4000 grand on a dog gear box and a paddle clutch, ooops"

Depends on how much more you want ...

after 100 miles the crank started knocking then it went BANG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My clutch started to slip badly in 4th when the VF24 was turned up to 1,3 bar...so I had a ceramic 4-paddle clutch fitted.

Strangely enough the tranny is still alive and kicking!??!
