I have a problem that is intermitant. When in second gear and you floor it, its as if there is no boost, if you keep it floored the boost doesnt comes back in till third. If you take your foot off then floor it again it seems to be back..

any ideas?

Cheers

Its some sort of safety think and noise emmissions that is programmed into the ecu.

It general happens when you have been going along in 2nd say at about 3000rpm in slow moving traffic, you then boot it to overtake, no boost. Lift off and re boot it and it is ok.

Some legislation/safety device IIRC. They all do it. Standard ecus, teks.

I second PD20SPD sentiments. It's a little cheat thats built into the ECU to get through emissions. Hold 3000rpm for long enough and you get no boost and the car goes into economical mode. You need to lift off and reapply or change gear to clear it. Sipie experienced this when trying to overtake a tractor. The big JCB pulled a couple of car lengths on him before he could reel it in

Thats exactly it, you may be waiting to boot it, like behind something very slow.. then floor it and it just doesnt pull like it normally does.

So standard ECU problem is it, oh well at least its nothing actually "Wrong" with the car.

Ive also noticed on One particualar roundabout that when i floor it comming out of the roundabout the car seems to hit the rev limiter but it is showing 6K, its as if the Rev counter doesnt work when going round corners!

Spot on - "they all do that" to get by emissions apparently.

Mine did it the other day. 7PSI was the max shown on my boost gauge, which is quite depressing
