I get a rattling on the heat sheild underneath the manifold.
One of the clip that bolts the heat shield in place has totally rusted off! Should I get a new heat shield or should I just take it off and leave it off Anyone know where to pick up a fairly cheap replacement unit from?

i had the same problem, got the heat shield removed, garage assured me there wouldnt be any problems. anyone know if its ok to do this?

Come on guys, someone must know the answer to this. I want to get rid of the heat shield, but I'm not particularly keen about being set alight either!!

Had some work done at TSL over the weekend and mentioned that I am having a H&S downpipe fitted this coming Saturday. They advised that I should definately have the heat shield trimmed and replaced.

Moral of the story - get yours fixed, don't just remove it!

remove it then lag it with exhaust wrap...
