I seem to remember on scott savies car, his dump valve was built connected directly into his HKS intercooler pipework. does anyone know enough aboutt he pipework to know how the standard dump valve is expected to fit? or do I need to consider changing to a super sequential malarky.

To be hoenst i would like the neatest solution, but it needs to be able to flow a lot and withstand a lot of boost.

There are different versions of the HKS FMIC...and the difference between them AFAIK is how the BOV is mounted on the pipe going to the plenum.

Which version have you got matey? Pipe pointed down, or a big hole pointing towards the nose of the car?

The latter version has an adapter included which allows fitting of a standard BOV (anyway, sorting this should be REALLY easy compared to what you've done already )

Hi Adam,

on my my99 the dv is a straight bolt on to the pipe attchement that comes with the kit. The kit includes a straight piece that contains the standard diamond shape required to mount the standard dump valve.

Cheers

Paul.

00MY - you get a metal `trumpet` with the HKS kit with a circular flange at one end and a diamond flange the other. This pipe is about 20cm long.

The circular flange sits up against the IC pipework and is held in by a large circlip. BoV bolts to other end.

However on my car, I had to get the trumpet reduced in length as it could not flow enough air. When you lifted the throttle the BOV would open but I was getting chocking of the dumped air. Net result, huge torque reversal when I lifted from boost (Think fuel cut type responce!)

So pipe now about 8cm long and responce much smoother.......

The vent to atmos HKS BoV is also circlipped onto the IC pipework.....

Adam,

You should have the same kit as on mine, the dump valve is attached using silicon hose to a pipe which comes out underneath the main pipe going into the throtle body...I would show you but my car is still scattered in several pieces around my parents barn, and the way things are going is likely to remain so for a long time
