Adding octane booster to NUL???

I live round York and can only get SUL at Sainsbury's(often run out!) or two shell optimax stations which I rarely pass. I find that if I alternate optimax/sul the car hates it.
SO question...Is 95UL plus octane booster as good as 97SUL?
Also how much extra can the octane of a given grade be raised?

i use optimax + 2 ron octane booster or SUL + octane booster.
anyone have any idea who sainsburys get their petrol from???
