OOPS--Overboost now car runs strangely when cold

From: Stuck in the 70s, man.....
I upped the boost on my MY 97 by placing a smaller restrictor orifice in the small pipe connected to the wastegate.(1mm as opposed to 1.2 mm standard.)
Well it ran too high & I got fuel cut.Now the car stumbles when driving from cold,like it's lost all power, then it misfires for a bit then seems to sort itself out.(This is all at sedate revs & boost).It seems to be fine once warmed up & is boosting up ok.Any ideas ? Cheers, John
