Twice now while using 4th gear to almost redline i have noticed a possible misfire.

Car is a MY99UK with unichip, dawes, boost defens', full decat set up by PS.

I normally (99%) drive like a granny but today was one of thoose days.

Car pulls really well then when i get to 5k in 4th its as if it misfires very!! slightly.

Am worried that it does it in all gears but as it revs quicker i dont pick up on it. I know the answer would be to put it on the rollers but it was only on there 3-4 months ago. Cant check it in 5th due to speeds involved.

Any ideas.

Dan

i am a mechanical retard, and so these checks cost money! tho i am sure that its is cheaper than a rebuild due to det'.

Car is in for its service on monday 30th so will check. I was hoping it was something to do with the boost being reduced at thoose revs and 4th gear is more noticeable. As i said it i a very light misfire almost a reluctance to rev tho it does and feels slow, not worth reving any more.

Cheers

Wink

Could be the grade of plugs you are using if you have modded the car.... the uni chip should have been set up right so you dont get miss fire...

What fuel are you using now you have modded it... do you use any octane booster..

Only Octimax ever.

Was running a OB but have run out, car was set up Without OB on rollers as well. Maybe Misfire is not the correct word. Plugs and leads are standard, wouldnt PS have recomended these if they were required. Also PS said that at high revs boost goes to normal settings and is only higher in the lower revs.

Cheers
