The boost on my DEFI peaks at 1.2, is this correct for a PPP (MY99) car?

It is a bit on the high side but not dangerous. In the winter it might go higher. Do you have a decat?

Cool

14.5 psi per bar

1.1 bar = 15.95 psi

1.2 bar = 17.4 psi

Hope that helps

Cheers,
Ray

PPP boost target is 15.7 PSI. It compensates more and more aggressively when it sees 16, 16.4, 17.4 PSI and goes ape when it sees 18.7 PSI when it will probably oscillate the boost from 10-18 PSI.

Question

Hi John,

I need your expert "opinion" please

I get up to 1.25 peak boost and then trickles down to 1.1 bar held on my JDM STi-7 in 3rd gear. Nice +9 advance all the way up to 7,000 rpms (where I chaneg gear, no red line for me , so I guess that means no det if not retarding advance to negative ? I am running a 1.25mm restrictor and a full decat scoobysport turbo back zorst. This was confirmed on deltadash and GReddy mechanical boost guage.

From the above can you comment on how 'safe' my car is running (obvioulsy not going to hold you to anything if car blows up

Thing I don't like is that from about 3,500 rpms onwards my 02 sensor reads 1.00 and above and usually reads as high as 1.015 above 4,000 rpms when under WOT in all gears. I would assume this is far too rich and is also why I am getting a horrible 15/16 mpg consistently ?

Only good thing I am hoping that due to it being so rich I am running safer although slower and less economical ?

Note: I was runnig 98 RON + octane booster (supposed + 1 RON increase) for first few months of ownership but on the above delta dash runs and last few weeks have just been runnig plain old 98 RON no booster. I can't tell any difference ?

Big thanks,
Ray

PS: I can run a DeltaDash on more parameters, conditons, etc iif you would like

That sounds quite healthy Ray. Rich is safe in your ambients.

Vinesh - safe boost is whatever the PPP will let you away with really.
