Unhappy

My exhaust smokes a little (white colour) upon startup, until the engine is warm. Imprezza turbo 2000 98UK car.

It doesn't smoke at all when warm, even when thrashing it....
Also, it only happens the first time the car has been used that day....

I've done 29k miles and i don't appear to be using any oil.

Has anyone else experienced similar, and is it a problem?

I am under extended warranty so i am keen to know if its trouble or not....

nowler.

Erm, don't all cars? All the more on a nice cold day.

Pretty sure white smoke is just condensation, nothing to worry about.

Just recently, after a service, my car would puff out white smoke upon cold start. It didn't continue until warmed up though, just a single puff. This was caused by the oil level being too high and when it was dropped the problem went away. Check your oil level in case your car has a similar problem...
Edited say that it would only happen once a day on my car as well. This is because oil seeps into places it shouldn't when left for a while and it blows out when next started. How long has it been doing this and have you recently had a service?

Oil level seems to be fine. it's been doing it for a few weeks, that i've noticed.
it was serviced 12 weeks ago, when i bought the car ago, but i wasn't noticing it then. mind you, it was the height of our scottish summer then and is now heading into winter, so maybe it is a climate / condensation thing.....?
