Out of interest are there any comparisons between the T75 and Scoobysport downpipes, I assume that the main advantage is the removal of the cat but the design approach differs between both products and I would be interested to hear any objective comparisons.

In short: twin dump is technically better than the bellmouth design, and appears to be so on the very high power cars. Sometimes. Bellmouth seems to give more repeatable results, though. But the difference is very minimal & probably wouldn't be noticed by most people. The big difference, as you say, is the removal of the cat, and also the opening of the wastegate.

Twin Dumps must have a correctly designed splitter otherwise they are flawed. I don't think the PE has one?

 

Well, yes, but the technically correctly designed splitter also seems to make virtually no difference...

 

jjay, was it you that had probs sealing your d/pipe joint? if so, how did you get on with it?

Like a complete n*b I didn't realise that the std gasket (tapered device on the end of the std dp)was in fact, a gasket. Therefore I was trying to seal the two together without a gasket!!!! - completely stupid I know, but at the time it seemed to make perfect sense. I was under the impression that the DP slipped into the centre section and would be held there by the spring arrangements. Im actually quite embarassed to admit this but still!!!

By Prodrive, I think you're talking about the more serious stuff. At which point it does make a difference. When piddling about with 3bhp either way, is it very important? Not to me! Well, not unless it's free...
