Thumbs up

It's definitely fuel surge. Happened very violently tonight whilst amusing myself with a Lupo GTI! He must have loved it when I spluttered and lost all go for about 3 seconds!

Wouldn't mind but the bank balance means I find it difficult to fill 'er up as much as she desires!

Question

My 2000MY WRX is running about 0.9 bar but coming off roundabouts it cuts out as if it's overboosting. Any ideas what the preset ECU limit is for the boost? Or could it be something else?

Mate thinks it could be a ****ty fuel filter because it only happens when i leap off roundabouts and throw it into third.

Cheers,
Ade.

Does it only do this when the petrol is a bit low - sounds like it could be fuel surge - accelerate hard out of a right hander (e.g. roundabout) then the fuel goes to the opposite side of the tank to the pump filter basket.

Could be low fuel, i'll try keeping the tank topped up (difficult!) and do the same stretch of road.

Cheers
Ade.

Had this a few times on one particular roundabout, turned out to be low fuel, if i ran less than 1/4 tank it did it.

The tank does not have any baffles

Can fuel surge be pretty violent?

I came off a roundabout the other night giving it, erm, 'large' and it was like running into a wall for a second. Then it was off down the road again.

What I get is pretty darn violent. Think it is the fuel, quite a fundamentel flaw in the design I'd say. Been out spanking it today with half a tank in and not happened once.
