Would an HKS AFR or C02 fix, affect an EGT sensor?

On an 01 WRX, PPP with decat would either of the above affect an Exhaust Gas Temperature sensor.
My CEL keeps going off and on and Subaru say its the EGT sensor that is getting intemitent readings. They wont investigate much further though as I have the C02 fix fitted and an HKS AFR.
Thanks
Nathan..

The EGT sensors are pretty fragile and I have seen a few that have failed. Fortunately none that I have seen have burnt up and entered the turbo.
They are approx £50 to replace, but your set up shouldn't be giving EGT error codes unless the probe is actually breaking down.
The AFR does give codes, as it sends a leaner signal to the ECU, so that the ECU will richen things up (or vice versa). The 01-02 ECU sees the signal as out of the expected range and throws up a CEL.
Do you have a list of the exact codes that were stored?

Thanks for the reply.
I don't know the exact codes, I'll go back to Subaru and find out. They did say they visually checked the sensor and it appeared okay.
The car drives fine both with the light on and off which is weird.
Edited to add EGT between 310 and 720 C.
