Question

My car is a MY00 PPP with Magnex downpipe/PE exhaust manifold and I am going to fit next week my new IHI VF29 turbo.
My question is should I add in my downpipe an exhaust splitter (a plate that extending from the exhaust into turbo housing) in order to cope the VF29 with the existed downpipe?
I have been told that my old TD04 turbo has smaller turbo housing compared with my new, thus adding a splitter increases turbo efficiency and reduces turbo lag!
Is this true?
