I have a problem with my Impreza Turbo 1998 (S reg).

Generally the following happens:

* in a queue of traffic, going about 60mph in fifth gear
* decide to overtake, so drop down to fourth and car runs at approx
3000 rev.s
* accelerate from 60 through to approx 80
* during this fairly hard acceleration and normally at about 70mph,
the car has a tendency to suddenly jolt forward, as if I've just run over
something large on the road and causing me to be thrown forward (sometimes
quite violently!)
* the car then continues on as if nothing has happened.

I have been onto the Impreza Drivers club site who talk about a waste gate solenoid
fault and the symptoms of this sound quite similar to my cars problem.
However, the Subaru garage have not found any problem with car in this respect.

Can anyone give me some advice on my car's problem or let me know of any alternative solutions?

Question

I've had a similar problem, which turned out to be a blocked pipe going to the MAP sensor.

Got a thread on here about it, but don't know how to link.

Mark.
