Hi,dont want to start a thread war but am going to change the oil and filter on my99 tomorrow and just wanted a bit of feedback.
For my other previous cars,cossys,quattro turbos etc ive always used Mobil1 fully synthetic partly cos i got it very cheap.
Now im in a dilema whether to use semi or fully again on the scooby.One scooby owner said to me that fully would only benefit me if I was getting the engine temp high like on track days.
I know people will have all their own preferences and money is not the objective hear for me,but just wanted to know which would be the best to suit the car.

my local subaru dealer uses mobil 1 5W40 (I think they all do)for all the impreza turbos.
so IMHO if you can get mobil 1 at a discount stick with that (just don't use the 0w40 because it's too thin at high temp).
Also remember to pre fill the filter prior to fitting and if poss crank the engine over without firing to get the oil pumped round.
