Between turbo and manifold. Not sure on bhp increase though.

As above, the uppipe connects the exhaust manifolds to the turbo. The power increase depends on the amount of mods on your car and the model year. The greatest increases are found on MY01+ WRXs as they have the delights of a cat as standard in the uppipe - on an otherwise standard car you are rumoured to get about 7 - 10 BHP extra by removing this + better spoolup etc. On the "classic" shape car the benefits are less unless you car is in a fairly high state of tune. On the New Age STi changing the uppipe can give boost spike problems.
