Question

Has anyone run this combo and if so can you give me advice on if it will fit? I know other types do not so am trying to find out if i need to buy the HKS power flow before it is fitted. Last thing i want is not being able to drive it away cos there is no filter.

From what i could see of others it looked like if i shortened the bracket that holds the kit it would move down enough to allow the pipes over it. I need to keep the maf in for now.

Also, will I need any extra silicone tubing? From what I have heard the kit does not come with the tube that is directly under the tmic. Will my PPP replaced silicone tube do the job or do i need to source some more before the install?

if there is anything else anyone thinks i should know before it is fitted then i would appreciate your comments.

Cheers

Paul.

Thumbs up

Paul your Prodrive pipe will need to be cut ever so slightly so it fits... Not sure on the SUS fitting... if you don't get an answer from the board it might be worth buying one for the day and if you don't need it send it back...

Give me a shout and I will sort the fitting out for a great price!

Cheers!

Cheers Neil,

I may call you depending if my current fitter is unable to do it. I am kinda hoping someone will have tried the combination or seen it.

Regards

Paul.

I have a LARGE K&N cone fitted in place of the airbox and the HKS piping just clears it.

James/Neil

doesnt it do that on a my99 also? I thought it did. When I ordered mine I just quoted that it was for a my99, so what piping will I have? I havent opened up all the piping boxes yet, anyway i will be able to tell? Thats confused me a little bit I'm gonna try and look at those diagrams again. Its a shame the instructions dont come on a disk or are sent in english.

I havent got an exact figure on fitting, just an agreed low cost installation. Can you send me a mail of your contact with location details etc and maybe i'll approach them with an offer Maybe they will even know the answer to my questions?

Neil, have you got any closer pics of the piping on that side? In fact if anyone knows any links of detailed installations then that would be cool. I remember seeing some in the past but unfortunately search brings me lots of "for sale" and "wanted back".

Cheers

Paul.

Paul,

a Blitz does not filter that well.

Do you use your MAF - I recently acquired a Pipercross filter that came with a pipe - you can remove your MAF and it fits perfectly in the rubber inlet pipe and fits well under the HKS FMIC system.

I think the P/cross came from a Range Rover - much better filtration.

Trout,

I am aware of the supposed filter properties and have seen that site where a bag of dust was thrown in front of the filter and a cloth caught the unfiltered mess. I agree that it probably isnt the best in the world for filtration but the performance is very good. I did a rr before and after the fitting of the kit and althought the peak difference isnt huge, 4bhp, the difference between 5500rpm and 7000 rpm from standard is as much as 12 bhp 9lbs/ft. I dont have a scanner here.

When I clean it, which is regularly, the housing and pathways have always been spotless although there is some crap to wash off the filter.

I appreciate it doesnt have the best filtration properties but it's not like we drive in deserts is it? As I have paid for it and have had no real problems so far im gonna run with it for now. Thank you for the warning though.

P.S. I am using the maf but only till sunday.

Edited because we were almost not driving in cream cakes
