Question

Hi all,
does anyone get fumes in their car when they turn their heater blower on?? I used to have it with my old car it was a rst, i now seem to get it with the scooby. Its a decat car my99 ive cleaned the engine checked some of the pipes there doesnt seem to be oil in them at all. As much info as pos would be great and if there is a cure even better.

Check the plastic cylinder at the front of the car (opposite side to battery) to see if the hoses are connected. If they come loose, you will smell fumes....

Thanks Gavin doing it right now, but i think that they are all connected any other ideas??

Have a look down the side of the drivers side cylinder head, the rocker gasket may be leaking slightly on to the exhaust manifold..
Which would give you your smell, this was the cause of my in car smell whilst the blower was on...
If you look down there you may see the 'good ole black stuff' sticking on the manifold just below the head.

Could this be exhaust fumes leaking from a loose/failed exhause gasket on the uppipe, downpipe or manifold?
