ported some my00 heads 181.8 cfm more than i had ever hoped for great results and gas speed over 200 ft per/sec. Also bolted the first section of exhaust manifold to the head and run a test lost 17cfm of flow, worked it for about 1 hour and got 4cfm back bit more to be had yet though. Measured some late uk cams and they had .365 lift not bad for std stuff, that will be .355 with .010 valve clearance. Just built an engine with these heads and cams plus stress relieved and shot peened rods arp bolts, tuftrided crank, balanced rotating assembly, sti pistons, stud and nut conv for the cyl head, head to manifold isolater plates, front entry manifold, fmic, fuel system mods and so on. Going to push it hard max hp and strip in 6 months and see how it has held up if it doesnt break a rod first. steve.

Oil ways are std, big ends and mains are lead and raised oil preasure a little. Done this front entry to later type manifold, pritty much cut the hole of the front and top of the manifold away and useing alloy plate tappered to the throttle body mounting flange, by cutting so much of the manifold away made easy axcess for a little port work to the manifold. Also using bigger throttle body. Using the isolater plates raised manifold a bit for some extra room to run the intake pipe 3 inch, removed power steering pump tank for some more room and relocated, have to make some unions and pipe work. Spun altinator over to were the air con was, using alloy std alt mount. Just making a alt pulley that protrudes abit more to line up with other pulleys and then got to source a belt that is the right lenght. steve.

steve,

can you give us some info on your history with doing this?

I need some serious head work done, and am considering my options, would you consider flowing someone elses heads?

On a seriouse note:

Did you shotpeen standard rods, ( ! ) or go for uprated replacement ones?

Are the head to manifold isolater plates you mention basically phenolic spacers to thermally isolate the manifold? If so, can you supply such spacers yet?

Adam been flowing heads for some time, have a superflow 120 flow bench with port flow anilizer and flow com. Been doing a fair amount of development on the subaru early and late heads, when flowing a head i will try to get max cfm flow, but keep a very close eye on port velocity which will give air flow when valve is on higher lifts, and also valve velocity which is gas speed at low valve lifts, all seats are 3 angle and cut on the latest state of art serdi head machine, all valve seats are vacume tested. Doing other peoples heads not a problem. As far as the spacers go they are thermal isolaters and made from bakerlite, cnc machined but can make them from what ever you prefer. Both early and late spacers.
Steve.
P.S can give graphs and print outs on all mentioned on your head before and after.
