Could it be Over Boosting???

I have a Legacy 92 which has the following mods:
Mototect Tecnician Chip/Board
MRT Induction Kit
HKS Rear Box
In 1st, 2nd & 3rd the car pulls bloody well with your foot hard down but when you go in to 4th & 5th with your foot hard down it starts to feel a little juddery and then all of a sudden it may cough or cut all power (as if someone has pulled the plug) when this happens every now and then the engine light may flash on.
It may happen 3 - 4 times when your foot is hard down in these gears but if i lift my foot a little the problem goes.
Have you any ideas what it could be? and also how do i resolve it??
And No, i haven't got a boost gauge.
