lack of power in uk300
#1
Dunno whats going on, but I seem to be down on power, if I floor the car in 2nd / 3rd / 4th the car used to pull after about 3k revs and it was noticable ! now there is no sense of being pressed into your seat ! and at 5k revs it feels like it is giving a big push !!
any ideas ?
got it booked into the dealer but want to know if anyone has any clues in case they bull5hit me
thanks

Is it similar to what I describe here: http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/threa...hreadID=110695?
Would be interested to hear what the dealer has to say.

Dave - I have been running on Optimax mainly but SUL when I cant get Optimax. wonder if Optimax is to blame ?
16k on the clock so engine should be nice and run in !! does it need a service ??? under the old scooby rules it should of had one by now but I have been told by the dealer not until 20k !!!
or is it cos its not cold and the intercooler isnt getting cold enough ( really dont have a clue what im talking about now ! )
Last week I had a porka 911 'G' plate behind me, he was up for a sprint so off we went I let him go past me at 120, then proceeded to match him to 145 ( private road ) but I thought I should kill him up to 100 at least ?? maybe not ?
then last night on the same private road had a 00 scooby in front of me and a Nissan GTi-R, blew them both away but not in the fashion I would of expected ! the car still goes fast but its not what Id call scooby fast !!! ie I expect to feel the car really pull and me to get pushed into my seat when flooring it !!!
like I say maybe im wrong, but I let my mate drive the car the other week and I was passenger and he floored it and I didnt feel any power, if I had been getting a test drive for a new car and it felt like this there is no way I would buy a scooby !!! the car is definitely not behaving in the same manner as it used to !!
Simes - I read your thread last week and it would be quite interesting to find out what caused your prob ! ? sounds VERY similar ( a defo kick at ~5k revs ! )
It will be interesting to see what the dealer finds ?
