any advice appreciated. My car despite being an import is serviced by subaru. On its last service, they wouldnt replace the plugs because they are diffrent to the UK spec car.

The plugs as fitted are NGK PFR6G

I gather these are the correct plugs, are these the plugs used by my fellow WRX owners? or is there an alternative? where can I purchase them?

These are platinum tiped, last ages.

Iridium tipped would be the only one better that I can think of.

6x harder and 8 x stronger and less like to melt. Claim slightly better fuel economy due to cleaner burning.

Gravelexpress,
Jamie at j-w-racing can get the Blitz iridium plugs , not a cheap plug though at £17 each.

John

My suburu mechanic uses NGK PFR 6Bs and they are £25ish a set.

The difference between the B & G is the firing end construction.

G is standard.

G stands for fine wire nickel alloy wire centre electrode.

B stands for special design, not sure exactly what that means.
