Unhappy

Car MY97, K+N Induction, Sti backbox, Forge DV

Took it to garage for 60k service, they said that all was ok no error codes, but car felt a bit sluggish. They said it could be down to Dump Valve or type of petrol used. I only use Super and the DV was fitted by TSL, so should be ok.

I fitted a blitz boost gauge this weekend, and found that I am only getting 0.5 bar on full boost. It reads -0.6 to -0.7 at idle. From what I can gather, 0.5 is about what you get in ECU safety mode?

I tried cleaning out the solenoid and pipes with brake cleaner and I have just done an ecu reset, but still only getting 0.6 bar.

I would have put this down to a faulty/bad install boost gauge, but with the garage saying that it felt sluggish has me worried.

Is there anything else that I can try before I book it back into the garage? Should I put my dawes on and see what that gives?

Please help.

Terry

Do an ECU reset on your car first of. You can either do this by unplugging the battery overnight or you can do it the other way using the green and black plugs under your dash. Got to the MRT site for this so you can be sure..

Very hard to tell when it started to feel sluggish as I had only had the car a few weeks when I got the DV fitted. Thinking back to that time, the DV did make a nice whoosh sound for the first 2/3 lift offs and from then on all I could hear is the wastegate through the Induction kit. I fitted a weaker spring to the DV last night, and the whoosh is back, but it is also slightly leaking under light throttle. I am very tempted to get the garage to put a standard re-circ back on for peace of mind.

If I was down on boost pressure, this could be why I am not getting the Whoosh with the red spring in.

I checked the pipes as much as possible, but didn't find any damage.

Looks like it's dealer time.

I have just ordered a standard recirc dump valve from the dealer. Should get it fitted in the next couple of days. He will also put it on the monitor again, but no errors showed last time.

Thanks for everyones help.
