Gearbox codes
Hi All
New person here, with a problem. After 30 years of reliable service from Subarus, I have a major complaint with mt 2012 Outback.
The CVT failed a while back and the repair quotes were more than the car is worth, so, after much research I changed the torque converter lock up solenoid and all was well.
950 miles later, just thinking I had a success on my hands, it suddenly started making noises and lost all drive, exactly as before.
So, I am looking for a secondhand gearbox, but wondered if a one knows the meaning of the codes. Mine is TT690JHBAA.
Just wondering what those last four letters refer to. Presumably diff ratio is one and obviously that’s crucial, but can I use any other referenced ‘box.?
Any assistance gratefully received
Cheers
Tom

Thanks for that. I have some time to think this through as the weather is dreadful and I’m working outside, so we are off the road till spring, probably!
