Urgent help please- wagon driveshaft
My 2005 wrx wagon is going in for a new front drive shaft this week, but the part I ordered online is for a saloon.
It wasnt until the part arrived that I realised Id forgotten to check if it was a wagon shaft before buying. When i went back to the shop i was told the difference in the shafts is too small to worry about, which i guess is why they dont sell wagon specific shafts. However ive just been told that whilst this is correct, I should replace both shafts. The other shaft is fairly new though, so im loath to change it unless i really have to.
any advice appreciated. Thanks!

What i'm asking for clarity on, is whether I really have to go to the expense of replace both left and right shafts, just because the new one is a few mm longer.
