intermittant noise
when ive been driving,and this only happens sometimes,when I go on full lock I get a clunk coming up from the front,you can also here it,its seems worse when im reversing,just like its a prop joint or drive shaft seizing up, when I go back to the car and drive the noise has gone until the next time it does it totally random,its difficult to pinpoint exactly where its coming from

If it’s making the noise when the car gets up to temperature there’s a good chance that your centre diff has gone.
This happened to me, when the car is cold not a sound.
The silicone inside the diff breaks down over time and repeated hot use.
Get the car running on a ramp in gear lock to lock to replicate the noise, if it’s isolated to the very back of the box then it’s the c-diff.
I have a gearbox rebuild thread with all the details.

Before crapping yourself over gearbox issues: Give the driveshaft nuts a tweek...torque wrench setting 'FT' (fookin' tight 
), should be about 190nm but if the nuts have been undone in the past, they'll need to be done up tighter as the spec is for new nuts.

thanks so much for replying ,ive just purchased a new computer and have only just read your reply,so apoligies for the delay will investigate further,my scooby is going down to allan Jeffries on for a cam belt change etc again thanks dennis
