been trying to locate some replacement universal joints for my 1996 wrx but not having much success. can any one advise me on where to get some as mine have gone stiff and notchy

 

get the sizes thats cap and span then google a company called ims thats international marketing services in the uk, all they do is uj's and yokes etc

 

thanks for that. Got in touch with a subaru dealer and they told me that you have to buy the whole propshaft at £700 as they do not supply replcement UJ's. I was too stunned to ask if this was for one shaft or for the two. I will get the old ones out and get in touch with the guys at IMS

 

I took a prop a few years back to a local propshaft company in Glasgow who replaced one for me and rebalanced the shaft it was pretty cheap. I would be stunned if there is not somewhere local too you.

 

contacted IMS Ltd got all three UJ,s for £84 delivered. These are the staked type and are standard fitting on toyota and lexus cars. cap size is 22mm diameter and length is 57.5mm.

Now after fitting you need to rebalance shaft, better off as arch said it take to a propshaft company. There's loads about if you google
