Looking for driveshaft assitance
I'm currently in the process of putting a Subaru 2.0 Turbo engine, gearbox and extras into a 1972 VW bug.
I have the engine and gearbox mounted in reverse orientation at the back of the car and had hoped that the front and rear drive shafts where the same, so that I could take the rear driveshafts from the diff and fit them straight to my gearbox.
As I found out, the driveshafts front to rear are different with the fronts fitting to little stub axels and the rears pushing into the diff.
What are my options, Could I just swap drive shafts over from front to rear, as I won't be needing drive to the front wheels anyway, or are the splines different at the hub?
Would it be possible maybe to swap the inner CV joints about or are the drive shafts going to be different diameters too?
