exedy pink, lightweight flywheel judder
Hey guys.
Had a exedy pink box clutch, braided clutch line and rcm lightweight flywheel fitted today. When pulling off its really juddery whilst letting the clutch out. Is this normal and i need to adjust my driving style (more revs, quicker clutch releases? ) or will it go away with bedding in? Or is that just how they are? Its a wrx blob is that helps.

Exedys are crap ,it will be better later but still will be there and clutch will last no more than 2 years( judder means meat is taken out from clutch)
i put oem standard after pink with the same old non skimmed flywheel and no judder at all
smells the same when launch it

Just to answer the OP, a lighter flywheel CAN cause more judder in some applications. I've used them many times on different cars and some do, some don't. Generally though with the less rotational mass you will see increased judder when pulling away. It should bed in a little and improve as you get used to it.
In my opinion the benefits outweigh the negatives as it makes the engine rev better and will ultimately help you achieve better power.

I have a Exedy Pink box H1 anti judder clutch and the light weight flywheel,
When it was first fitted it did judder when cold and smelt a lot. This lasted for a month or so and has been fine since.
Its been in the car for over a year now and over 6k and not a problem.

Do you get any deceleration noise at all? I get a strange grind/cluncky noise but only on decel, the second you touch the throttle the sound goes. Iv been told its the clutch, could be box, could be centre doff or could be a drivetrain alignment issue? Only started happening after the clutch was fitted
They are crap, some bed in some don't. The last one I had on my car I removed after six months and swapped for an AP racing clutch from RCM as the judder became unbareable. The AP drives like standard at 460 BHP with no issues and no judder. I think the anti judder title is some sort of sarcastic joke I'd never buy one again.

To be honest i wont be using the company i went with ever again. Need to find a new Subaru specialist to do the jobs i dont want to in the west mids area lol.

had 2 exedy clutches over the years and both were rubbish,both genuine exedy pink,both fitted with a new genuine subaru flywheel and juddered would never by exedy again.
moved on to ap racing clutch and its like heaven to drive.

Exactly what I found. My AP is on the same flywheel as the Exedy was with no skim or even a rub down & drives perfect years later. The Exedy juddered out of the box & never beded in. If you search on here loads of people have had issues with them juddering. Giving your product the title anti judder says it all to me. Some people love them, each to their own ill stick to AP from now on far superior product.

I have an Exedy Hyper Multi Twin on my STI hatch that I recently bought and running 450bhp/450TQ and was surprised to find that when under WOT and changing gear it still shudder/thumps a bit as it picks up the load in the next gear.
I wouldn't say I am being slow re-engaging the clutch and the quicker you let it out the more obvious the noise is!
When it wears out I will probably give AP a try.
