Suppose this is a follow on from the rally xhaust question. I have never seen a scoob bang flames out of the back (except the rally cars).. when downshifting or upshifting.
does anyone have a set up that does this?

I've seen loads of Scoobs flame - especially on track. Full decat and a vent to atmos DV with a hot exhaust is normally all that is needed. I remember Dave T-S's old MY01 WRX flaming well at Donington a few months back.
The most impressive flames I've seen were from Mike Tuckwood's Cossie - but he was cheating with a sparkplug fixed in the exhaust !!

A replacement programmable ecu would help. I get flames if i want them. Launch control is good for them, so is anti-lag. Of course, you could just map the high rpm, low load areas rich, then you should get pops and flames whilst driving around at reasonable speeds if you run the engine higher up in the rev band without flooring it, so to speak.

A good exhaust system (HKS/Blitz) and a powerful dump valve (HKS sequential) should do it, but for the best results, get the car hot and run it on the richest petrol you can find, then accelarate like made and then slow down, useing the gears, big flames !
