I have a slightly modded UK `98 and the clutch has just started to slip. Which one is best to replace it with as I have been told I can get an AP one for similar money to an OE part. My secon question is who is best to do the work ?

Any replies or views or experiances would be greatfully received

ta

i had AP organic racing clutch fitted in Jan to MY97turbo
its wicked not cheap but worth the extyra over a std subaru one!
feels really nice...no more std clutch juddddderrrrr.
TSL did mine...all fitted with everything £750
others do them too about the same price.

Just about to get mine replaced by Subaru dealer with P1 clutch. Apparantly this is now what they fit as standard and fixes all the judder probs.
Will let you know next week what its like.

AP organic - but not perfect - at low gears you havee to be very smooth on the changes still- just Changed from a 4 paddle (that was a nightmare)

Cost is about £395 for the AP Organic - add on stuff like clutch release bearing and another bit- for around £90 and then add on the labour - circa £200 = £685

You may be better off cost wise with a Helix clutch which are supposed to bee as good - Pstation in Cheltenham do these - they charged me £160+ vat to swap the clutch (AP) which I thought was good value

I can recommend the Helix clutch.

Scoobysport fitted one for me about six months ago, no more judder and no problems. I've not really given it much abuse and can't comment on the long term wear, but it works just as you'd expect for day to day driving.

As for price I had a load of other things done at the same time so you'll have to call them.

Thumbs up

like i said mine was £750 inc VAT and all the stuff and fitted!

AP....they use them in racing cars so must be good!

very pleased with mine...good in all gears!

you know you want one...Subaru Nottm (Beechdale) wanted £550 for a std clutch

AP worth the extra i think
