The plug is at the top of the box near the speed sender, to do the nps its best to drop the box down a bit too aid access too remove and refit the sensor

Not sure but to reset the engine ecu I think you disconnect the battery and let the internal capacitors loose their charge then the system starts to relearn. Leave it in the garage overnight with a disconnected battery.

Down load ssm 1.2.5 and buy a 0bd2 cable you can check for faults ,reset ecu, gearbox codes and look at engine functions in measuring blocks and the same for gearbox a-dccd

So you replaced the neutral position switch and performed the diagnostic procedure again and the nps fault is still present?

What about the handbrake switch did you change that?

The dccd controller doesn't need to be reset or cleared as it will do it itself when the faults are fixed

I wouldn't rule it out based on the brake lights still working. There'll be at least two switched circuits on the stop light switch, one of them could be faulty whilst the other is working. I had an issue on my diesel Vectra years ago, engine management light came on which was triggered by the stop light switch. My brake lights were fine but the ECU wasn't getting the signal to turn the fuel pump off when braking. Swap it out for the sake of a few quid.

Brake switch for DCCD is different to that used for the brake lights. If faulty it will also give problems with the ABS.

Also, I believe there is a brake fluid level switch on some models and that is wired in parallel with the brake switch to the DCCD controller, so that might be worth checking.

Just to clear some things up for future reference. There are two procedures for checking faults with the dccd on the 05 sti,

#1 pedal to the floor and scroll the dccd wheel back and forth 10 times brings up the saved faults. So faults that are a certainty.

#2 the one posted above by keoghsti, in which the parking brake is operated along with the thumb wheel.

The no2 procedure is a kind of test mode, keogh sti was getting code 33 and 37 brake pedal switch and neutral switch. But those were not faults, if he had operated the brake pedal and the gearstick while the dash wash blinking the codes the would dissapear because then the module can see they are working.
I chased my tail for ages trying to figure out the fault with mine. Turned out to be an abs sensor.
Keoghsti turned out to be the actual dccd inside the gearbox.

I hope this is helpful to anyone who has issues in the future because I don't even think half of the well known specialist know much about dccd diagnostics and can be very frustrating when you find a thread were someone has the same problem as you and the thread just dies out with no indication of wether or not it was resolved.

Mine was a wiring fault in the end! It is my belief that they mis diagnosed the dccd clutch magnet and charged me for both!! All fixed now! I was told after the magnet was 'repaired' the fault still existed.... no siht
