Hi

Steering knocks in what way?

The gearbox in the wrx are prone to fail, whining, crunching.
Best to try and get a replacement.

You sure it's not a worn CV joint ? Or a knackered shaft?

I'd take it to a garage who knows what they are looking at before you go spend one a box.

As above don't believe the first reply people send you until you give the full info

I had the same problem before was a knackered cv joint as the boot had burst.
If it is any breaker will carry one in stock relatively cheap fix

steering racks are known to go on the bugs as well so check that also. a cheap fix if its that they go for 40 quid off breakers on here.
