Default Sticky selecting gears :/

Just a question for the experienced on here. My gears have just started going in like really stickily since yesterday. It was fine before really smooth no problems no sign of it happening either. Just wondering if anyone else has had this happen to theirs? I got a impreza 2000 uk model with 5 speed box. Any ideas or help really appreciated thanks

hi mate, oil level or change required, if not poss clutch related slave or master cylinder... hope that helps. theres prob a pattern to road speed and when selecting gears , try changing a little sooner so the revs are lower, this might give u a clue. my 3rd gear synchro isn't to happy.

Definitely try a oil change first. Either that or the synchro's are on the way out

75w90 is the oil of choice, 5 speed takes 3.8 litres , (4.0 is okay to help make sure there's plenty) dont overfill it

Millers nanotech 75w90 is good stuff for good condition boxes. Try the redline shockproof or the motul 3000 for your box

The cold weather doesn't help because oil isn't as runny.it was pretty cold yesterday. But check oil level anyway and if its not low, maybe consider a change for a 75/90 as mentioned. You may aswell get an extra litre and do rear diff whilst there, its easy enough. If its nothing to do with oil, then check gear linkages/bushes.one may have broke and is snagging on something

Could even be clutch issues
