5 speed clutch and fly with 6 speed?
Hi Folks,
bit of background first, I fully serviced my Bugeye WRX, including a new exedy pink clutch before a remap. Unfortunately the big end bearings let go during the map. So now the engine is going to be rebuilt to handle abit more power so I've decided on going for a 6 speed. The 6 speed box will come with the clutch and fly wheel, though the condition of these is unknown at the moment.
I have been informed by several sources that I can use my nearly new 5 speed clutch and the 5 speed fly wheel with the 6 speed box.
Is this right? as if doesn't seem to make sense to my non mechanically minded brain. if so, are there any disadvantages or maybe advantages to using a 5 speed clutch and flywheels?
Whatever, the 5 speed wont be wasted as it will go in my wifes uk2000.
Thanks in advance for the help
