Oil covered rear diff

Default Oil covered rear diff

Hi folks

Noticed a little grumbling when driving along in my 2002 JDM STI from the rear of my car. Can only hear the noise when coasting along off throttle. No noise when stationery, or accelerating or when moving along while the clutch is engaged

Anyway had a look and the rear diff plate and its covered in oil See below (sorry about the small pic!)



I can't see any leaks from the shafts as you can sort of see in the picture, and strange the bolt to the right is clean? I can't get access to see the top.

What's the Snet diagnosis? I guess clean it up, new gasket, change fluid and take it from there?
